The Claw
Blind Box Series
In The Claw, I designed a blind box series featuring a keychain of a teddy bear being lifted by a claw machine. Inspired by Toy Story and Wreck-It Ralph, I wanted to recreate the feeling of being inside the machine, watching a fellow toy get chosen. The packaging mimics a claw machine, with an illustrated exterior and an immersive interior. I ultimately chose laser cutting for the keychain, which gave the bear dangly, movable arms and a playful transparency. The project became an exploration of packaging, storytelling, and unexpected problem-solving.

Each teddy bear isn’t just a color variation—they have their own whimsical persona and profession within the bear world. I created backstories that blend fantasy and humor, giving each bear a unique identity that invites collectors to connect with them beyond aesthetics. Whether they’re a bathtub captain, a vigilante, or simply a law abiding citizen, each role adds personality, making you more inclined to choose the bear that resonates most with you. My favorite is Cleo, whose story feels especially personal to me, embodying traits and experiences that I relate to the most.
